Meet Striker

URGENT-Foster or Foster to adopt

Striker is a handsome 3 year old neutered Rottweiler who is up to date on all of his vaccinations and is looking for a fresh start after losing the only home he knew. Through no fault of his own, Striker found himself in the shelter after his beloved owner passed away.

Despite the changes in his life, Striker has shown everyone what a resilient and fun loving boy he is. He has been wonderful with the adult staff at the shelter and has socialized well with other dogs, although he can be selective with his canine friends. At this time, he is untested with cats and children.

One of Striker’s favorite things in the world is playtime! Give him a fenced yard and a few toys, and he’ll happily entertain himself for hours by tossing them into the air and chasing after them. Watching him play is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Striker would thrive in a breed savvy home that understands the needs of a Rottweiler and can provide him with the love, structure and stability he deserves. A securely fenced yard is preferred so he has a safe place to run, play, and be his happy self.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion and are ready to give a deserving dog a second chance, Striker may be the perfect addition to your family. Please click the ‘Apply To Adopt’ tab at the top of our homepage and fill in our online application.

Jojo is a beautiful 3 year old Rottweiler looking for a patient, experienced family who understands the breed and is committed to helping her thrive. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, and ready to start her next chapter.

Jojo is moderately active, playful, affectionate, and enjoys the quiet life. With the people she knows and trusts, she is loving, loyal, and happiest spending time with her family. She can be shy around strangers and has a natural guard dog personality, making her a devoted companion who takes her job of watching over her home seriously.

Having spent her life on a farm with the freedom to roam, Jojo is still adjusting to walking on a leash and currently pulls quite hard. She knows sit, stay, down, come, and drop it, but would benefit from continued work on her recall and loose-leash walking.

Jojo has not been well socialized and can bark and lunge when she sees unfamiliar dogs. Although she previously lived with another dog, she would do best as the only dog in her new home. She also enjoys chasing cats, so a cat free home is a must.

Jojo has always lived in a quiet household with two senior adults and would do best in a calm adult only home without children. She is house trained but not crate trained. Like many dogs, she’s not a fan of veterinary visits or having her nails trimmed, so she’ll need an owner who is patient and willing to continue building her confidence through positive reinforcement.

Jojo is searching for a breed savvy home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely enjoy the outdoors. With understanding, structure, and love, she has all the potential to become an incredibly loyal and devoted companion.

If you’re looking for a faithful best friend and are ready to give Jojo the guidance she deserves, she may be waiting just for you. Please click the ‘Apply To Adopt’ tab on our homepage  and fill in our online application.

Max is a handsome 6 year old Rottweiler with a big heart and an even bigger personality. This very active boy is looking for a home that can match his energy while giving him the love and structure he deserves.

With the people he knows and trusts, Max is incredibly affectionate and happiest when he’s soaking up attention, he truly believes he’s a lap dog! He’s loyal, playful, and loves spending time with his family.

While he can be shy and a little stand-offish when meeting new people, he warms up with patience and proper introductions.

Max has been around children and has done well with them. He is house trained and knows basic commands, including sit, stay, down, and come. He enjoys going for walks, although he can be strong on leash and will benefit from continued leash training.

Max does not do well with other dogs and has never been around cats, so he would do best as the only pet in the home. He is not crate trained but has good manners in the house.

Max is an intelligent, loving companion who will thrive with an experienced owner willing to continue building his confidence and provide him with regular exercise and clear leadership. In return, you’ll gain a loyal best friend who will happily shower you with love and keep you company every step of the way.

If you’re looking for a devoted companion with plenty of personality, Max may be the perfect addition to your family. Please click the ‘Apply To Adopt’ tab on our homepage  and fill in our online application.

Meet Greta, a sweet and loyal 10-year-old German Shepherd looking for her forever home.

Greta is a spayed, vaccinated senior girl whose owner is sadly no longer able to care for her due to moving into long term care. Despite her age, Greta still has plenty of love, energy, and companionship to offer. She is moderately active, enjoys going for walks, spending time with her people, and being included in daily life.

Greta has a wonderful balanced temperament and is friendly, playful, and affectionate with family, friends, and new people. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and has completed obedience training. She knows her basic commands including sit, down, and come, walks well on leash, and enjoys car rides (she may pull lightly when excited about heading out on an adventure!).

Greta has done well with other dogs and could potentially share a home with a canine companion. She has not been tested with cats.

She would thrive with a family who appreciates a mature, well-mannered dog and can continue providing her with walks, attention, and the love she deserves.

Greta may be a senior, but her heart is young. She’s ready to spend her next chapter surrounded by a family who will cherish her.

Age is just a number. Greta is proof that the best companions come with experience, loyalty, and a lifetime of love to give.

Moose is a handsome 6 year old old German Shorthaired Pointer/Husky mix looking for his forever family!

This affectionate, social boy loves people and enjoys spending time with family, friends, and visitors alike. Moose is a talkative guy who isn’t shy about sharing his thoughts and loves being included in daily life. Whether it’s a walk around the neighbourhood, a car ride adventure, or cuddling, Moose is happiest when he’s with his people.

Moose is moderately active and would enjoy an active family that can provide regular walks and opportunities to stretch his legs. He is used to having access to a fenced yard where he can run and play at his leisure, though we would consider homes without a fenced yard if they can meet his exercise needs.

He gets along well with most dogs and cats and has been around respectful young children without any issues. If he needs a break, Moose is great at taking space for himself and relaxing quietly.

Moose is house trained, crate trained, and knows several basic commands including sit, stay, down, and come. While he can get excited during walks, he redirects easily and isn’t a strong puller on leash. He’s also an excellent passenger in the car, making him a wonderful companion for adventures near and far.

Like many dogs, Moose is afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks, so he’ll appreciate a family that can help him feel safe during noisy events. He also has a high prey drive and may occasionally indulge in a little digging, so appropriate supervision and enrichment are important.

Some of Moose’s favourite things include:

• Playing with balls and stuffed toys

• Chewing on bones and treats

• Going for walks

• Running and exploring

• Cuddling with his favourite people

Moose is up to date on his vaccinations and ready to find a family to call his own.

While a fenced yard is preferred, we encourage all interested applicants to apply even if your home doesn’t check every box. The perfect match isn’t always what it looks like on paper, and Moose may just be the companion you’ve been searching for.

Halle is a beautiful 1 year old Rottweiler mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This affectionate, playful girl loves being close to her people and firmly believes she’s a lap dog, despite her size! Whether she’s snuggling on the couch, exploring the dog park, or playing with her favorite humans, Halle approaches life with enthusiasm and joy.

Halle is up to date on her vaccinations, house trained, crate trained, and knows several basic commands including sit, stay, come, and drop it. She’s an intelligent young dog who is eager to learn and would benefit from continued training and structure as she matures.

Like many young dogs, Halle plays hard and can be a little exuberant. She sometimes jumps up when excited, pulls on leash when overstimulated, and can become vocal when separated from her people. She is also a chewer when bored or under stimulated, so she’ll do best with an active family committed to providing regular exercise, enrichment, and guidance.

Halle is friendly and loving with her family and trusted friends but can be shy around strangers, especially men. She is most comfortable with women, children, and teenagers, though with patience and proper introductions she does warm up to men over time.

Her ideal home would have a fenced yard and an active family that can keep up with her energy level. She would thrive as the only dog in the home, but may also do well with a calm, well trained male dog who can help model good behaviour. Because of her size, strength, and breed mix, we’d love to see her with a Rottweiler-savvy family and older, respectful children or teens.

Halle is still growing into the amazing dog she’s meant to be. She doesn’t need a perfect family just one willing to invest time, patience, and love into helping her become her best self. In return, you’ll gain a loyal, affectionate companion who will keep you laughing, cuddling, and feeling loved every single day.

We encourage all interested adopters to apply, even if you don’t perfectly match every item on Halle’s wish list. The right home is one that sees her potential and is ready to help her shine.

Help us, Help Barney!! – Available

Barney is a 2 year old, neutered, American Bulldog mix. He can be a bit nervous with new people, but once he knows you, he will show you his wild side. He loves playing with a ball, or his dog friends. A home with similar breed experience is ideal. He will need someone that is up for going to training to nip some of his bad habits like leashing biting. Barney’s new family should not have cats or young children. A house with a fenced in yard would be best for him. They need to be patient and ready to put in some effort.

***Special needs – DEAF***

He has good days and bad days when he is on a leash. He likes to tug on the leash but can be very hard to snap out of it if you don’t use the slip lead to correct him. When not on walks he is a very sweet boy.

If you have it in your heart to adopt or foster Barney. Please let us know by clicking the ‘Apply To Adopt’ tab at the top of our home page and filling in an online application.

Look at that face ?!?! Cute as a Button – Available

Button is a 3 year old bully. He is a sweet boy who enjoys eating and going for walks. He does have some stranger danger but once he trusts you, he will love you forever. He does need some training as he pulls on walks and can be a bit pushy at times. He would do better in a home without kids or cats. Dogs – he is definitely interested in them but the shelter is such a stressful environment it’s difficult to judge.

If you are interested in helping this cutie, please let us know by clicking the ‘Apply T o Adopt’ tab at the top of our home page and filling in an online application.

Meet Storm – Your New Playful Companion! – Available

Storm is a 4 year old Bully Mix with a heart full of love and energy! Unfortunately, her current family is no longer able to care for her, and she’s searching for a new home where she can thrive and share her playful nature.

She’s active, loves to play, and is always ready to show affection with her favorite humans (she’s a big fan of giving kisses!). Storm is well-trained, knows commands like “sit,” “stay,” “come,” and “drop it,” and she’s both house-trained and crate-trained. While she enjoys attention and affection, she’s not a fan of being picked up.

She’s good with teenagers, adults, and seniors and has been great with cats in her previous home. Storm can play a little rough with large dogs but is untested with small dogs. We’re unsure how she’d interact with young children, but she’s always been a friendly girl with her human companions!

Storm is not spayed and isn’t up to date on vaccinations yet, but we’re committed to getting her fully prepared for adoption. If you’re looking for an energetic, loving, and loyal companion, Storm could be the one for you!

Should you or anyone you know be interested in fostering or fostering with intent to adopt Storm, please click the ‘Apply To Adopt’ tab at the top of our homepage and fill in our online application.

Meet Bruno – A Loyal and Loving Companion! – Available

Bruno is a 3 year old male Miniature Australian Shepherd who is searching for a new home where he can thrive and be the center of attention. Unfortunately, Bruno has become anxious and reactive toward the other dog in his current home, which has led to conflicts and an unpleasant environment for both dogs and their family.

Bruno is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and currently receiving treatment for his anxiety with Reconcile. He is moderately active, playful, and affectionate, and he’s friendly with strangers and family/friends. Bruno is also talkative and enjoys socializing, but due to his anxiety, he has developed some fearful behaviors and occasional aggression. He has shown aversion to children and people wearing hats, so an adult-only household without children is a must. Bruno needs to be the only pet in the home no cats or other dogs so he can enjoy the attention he craves and feel comfortable.

Bruno understands basic commands such as “sit,” “stay,” “come,” and “down.” He may pull on the leash occasionally but is easily corrected. He’s used to running freely in a fully fenced backyard, so a home with a similar setup would be ideal for him to get the exercise he loves.

If you’re an experienced dog owner looking for a loyal, loving companion who just needs the right environment to thrive, Bruno might be the perfect fit for your home!

Should you or anyone you know be interested in fostering or fostering with intent to adopt Bruno, please click the ‘Apply To Adopt’ tab at the top of our homepage and fill in our online application.
