Binocle Update - I hope you all had a Happy Easter! Even though it was a holiday weekend, we were still busy rescueing, with the help of some friends!

Firstly while we couldnít help both weimeraner girls, we were able to find a wonderful foster for young Binocle and we also asked Weimeraner Rescue if they could help with Chelsea. We were thrilled when Weim Rescue were able to take Chelsea into foster care.

Now came the transport for young Binocle ... who at 2 years old is almost if not already blind. While the people at the shelter adored her and took wonderful care of her, she was understandably a very frightened girl. Thanks to the wonderful people at Critter Cabs for helping transport our girl on Sunday into the arms of her loving foster family.

The first night in foster care was a stressful one for Binocle and her foster family. Poor girl could not settle down, she was out of her element and quite nervous. After a good nights sleep, Binocle made a full recovery and greeted foster mom with a full wiggle bum ... her stubby bobbing away happily! The kids have also fallen in love with Binocle ... she is such a puppy in so many ways.

Welcome Binocle ... we are so happy to have you in our rescue family!

Rocky Update - What a way to end the week and begin the Easter Holiday. We are over-the-moon thrilled for our boy Rocky. It seems to me that all things happen for a reason.

Our boy came to us a couple of years ago and was lovingly fostered by Ron and his fur-sister Maxine.  After several months we were elated that Rocky had found his forever home. Sadly due to unforeseen circumstances, Rocky had to return to rescue.

Once again, Ron whisked this boy into his loving care. However, as Ron lives on a boat, the steps to and from were getting increasingly hard on Rocky who was getting a little arthritic.  We then posted him as needing another foster or forever home.

Then it happened ... our girl Karen was looking for another senior to add to her family and we really hoped that Rocky would fit in with the families fur-kids.  Well, it was love at first sight for Marlee and Tyson is really looking forward to play-time with his new big brother. You just hit the jackpot Rocky!!!  Congratulations Karen, Steve, Marlee, Tyson and Rocky! Have a safe and Happy Easter everyone!

Gus Update - We received a nice picture of our boy Gus from his mom Anne. Our old boy is sadly losing his eyesight but it hasnít slowed him one bit and it seems he is a social butterfly around the neighbourhood (-: Here is a short note from Gusís mom:

Hes a distinguished old gentleman now.

Everyone in our new neighbourhood loves him.

We also received a couple of pictures of Diesel from his mom Izabel. Our boy has made a LOT of friends since arriving home and his sister Daisy has accepted him with open paws now.

Diesel gets to go with sister Daisy, three times a week for a 5 hour hike.  Does it get any better than this? What a lucky boy!

Meet Molly - Our little big-girl has made it to her foster home and boy, is she having a blast.  I knew Karitsa would love this girl and no doubt the boys will be loving her too.

We would like to thank our good friend Jody for taking this girl in temporarily for us, she had a blast with Jodyís boy Arthur while she waited to go into more permanent foster care.  Here is a short note from foster mom, Carolina.  Welcome Molly!

Hello everyone! I would like to introduce you all to ANML-RESQ's newest rescue Molly the Great Dane! She is a sweet heart and full of puppy energy and jumps around like a springboard, lol. She has met her foster brothers.

So far so good. She's only about 4 months old and you can see how tall she is when she's beside Karitsa.

Karitsa is a tall girl to begin with so we can only imagine how big this little Great Dane girl will be when fully grown.

Now she is having fun with Karitsa, Tynan, Timber and Hank (-:

Maxwell Update - Foster mom Jen got a nice picture of her Mousseline from Mousseís mom.  She is looking GREAT and itís so nice to see that she has some doggy friends (-:

Jen is now fostering Maxwell who we introduced earlier this week.  Max is doing well and has really warmed up to the family. He enjoys lots of belly-rubs and he is getting really good with his basic commands.

Maxwell went to the vets this week to be vaccinated and the vet also provided a cream for his sore feet.  He should be good as new in no time.  He is also scheduled for neuter in a couple of weeks time and then he will be soon be ready for adoption after his neuter.

Here are some pictures of Maxwell at the vet clinic.  It wasnít his favorite place to be LOL ... but not too many dogs like going to the vets.

Buddy Update - We were thrilled to get an awesome update and pictures from Buddyís mom Kristine. This update has totally made our day! It sure looks like Buddy is living the life!

Hi Darlene. Everything is great. Buddy has most definitely bonded with my husband. They have a pretty special relationship. We learn more and more about him all the time, like the fact he will do anything for the tiniest morsel of banana.

He really dislikes the sounds of certain bells (we were watching Mr.  Selfridge and when the elevator opened its door in the background he got very agitated).

He has been to the vet and he is thriving. He is lovely with everyone. Not a single negative encounter. He is truly a puppy and LOVES his rubber chicken. He likes to push it against us if we don't give him immediate attention.

He has become a couch dog so it's a good thing our sectional is large. I know you said you come to town, so please don't hesitate to come see the boy.

A cottage, a loving home and lots of fun things to do. Considering where he came from, this boy has hit the jackpot! Congratulations Buddy and family!

March 14/16

Meet Maxwell - We here at ANML-RESQ have another rescue to tell you about. This is Maxwell (named after the street he was captured on). Maxwell had been straying in the area for quite some time but he was very elusive and was too frightened to come close to people. Thanks to two very special people, Jennifer and Pablo S., this young boy was finally captured. Pabloís office is above the garage so he set out some food in his garage and when Maxwell ventured in, Pablo hit the garage door opener and he was finally captured. We had been notified of this dog running at large and were already working on finding a foster home for this dog, if captured. Thanks to Jennifer and Pabloís genius capture ... they were working with Maxwell but he was a very frightened boy. He would not come near them...he would run off and hide. So they decided to set up some chairs and have some treats handy and slow but sure Maxwell approached. The problem was, if they stood up he would scurry off again and hide.

Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...

Within a couple of days Maxwell began to trust a little more but seemed very frightened of men. We contacted local SPCAís and lost and found sites and it seemed no one was looking for this sweet boy. Thankfully we had a foster home speak up and soon Maxwell was on his way from Quebec to his foster home in Cambridge. ANML-RESQ would like to thank Kathy Pickle and the VIPosse for getting this boy to Jen and James and Roxy who were anxiously awaiting his arrival ... well maybe not Roxy. lol The two get along famously but Maxwell needs to be neutered. He has a desire to get fresh with Roxy ... heís the happy humper, so as soon as he gains some much needed weight he will be neutered.

His feet are in a pretty sad state as well ... they are red, inflamed and painful. We think he could possibly of had frostbite but we will know more this week when he visits the vet.

Thank you again to everyone that helped this boy to safety ... from his rescuers Jennifer and Pablo, to the VIPosse, Debbie, Jen, James and Roxy. As we always say Ė it takes a village to save a life. Welcome Maxwell!

Congratulations Diesel - ANML-RESQ is thrilled to announce that our sweetheart Diesel has gone to his forever home! We could not be happier ... the family fell in love with him through pictures and it was love at first sight

We were hoping their resident female would love him and although they got along fine, Daisy will need to get used to sharing her awesome family with Diesel.

Many thanks to Diane and Norm for fostering this great boy, thank you Michelle for referring such a wonderful family to us for Diesel. Congratulations Izabel and Family and especially Diesel!

March 10/16

URGENT - Binocle and Chelsea are urgent ... ANML RESQ really wants to help this girl! I'm in love. Binocle (French for specs) has captured my heart. At the young age of 2 years she was found stray and is suspected to be suffering from progressive retinal atrophy or PRA. She must have been so scared out on her own and not able to see!

PRA is a non painful disease that will likely end in complete blindness. Despite this diagnosis, Binocle loves life and has learned to use her nose very well! We are looking for a foster or adoptive home that is willing to bond with Binocle through scent training. A home where the furniture is rarely "re-arranged" is helpful as well. She gets along with other dogs and is a very friendly girl. She will need time to sniff every inch of a new environment.

If you think you can provide Binocle the foster of forever home she is seeking, please fill in the adoption/foster application on the left. If you have any questions, please email us at

And meet Chelsea...

URGENT - Chelsea is a 10 year old Weimaraner that has been an only child until 10 months ago. Her single Mom now has a human baby to care for and Chelsea is a little jealous. She's taken to having a wee on the floor in the baby's room and knocking him over. She's been cleared by a vet and there is no medical reason for her behaviour. So, she's looking for a new home.

Chelsea loves other dogs, will chase squirrels so a home without cats is best. Only a home without children under the age of 12 years will be considered. Chelsea loves to follow her nose so a fully fenced in yard is a must!

If you think Chelsea is the pup you've been looking for, please fill in the adoption/foster application on the left. If you have any questions, please email us at

March 8/16

Meet Molly - ANML-RESQ is thrilled to announce that we have a PUPPY! Her name is Molly and she is a 3 1/2 month old Great Dane. As you can see, she is already a big girl and has only just begun to grow.

We are just getting to know Molly but after one night in foster care she seems to be taking everything in stride. We canít wait to learn more about this adorable girl and we will be sure to keep you all updated. Welcome aboard Molly! We are thrilled to be able to help you find an amazing forever family.

March 2/16

Meet Sammie - Meet Sammie who is a 2 year old male Rotti. He is UTD on his vaccines, neutered and microchipped. Sammie came to us because his owner is ill. He was very sad to say goodbye to Sammie. He has been dearly loved and it shows in Sammie's temperament, behaviour and love of all things!

Sammie will be one of our most popular boys so, here are the details of what he will be looking for in his new forever home. Sammie loves the companionship of other friendly and respectful dogs and will play, play, play for hours. Another young'ish playful dog in the home would be best for him. He has lots of energy to burn so a fully fenced yard to play and sniff out the area are a must.

Sammie is crate trained and quite comfortable in the crate while you are out to work or running errands. He was a bit of a counter surfer as a youngster. Otherwise, his foster home has not seen him chew on anything he shouldn't be, just his toys. He is fully house trained and will let you know when he needs to go out. Sammie is a social butterfly so someone who would include Sammie in activities where he can great others and have some fun will be just the enrichment he needs to continue being the happy go lucky boy that he is!

If you and Sammie could be a match made in heaven, please fill out our adoption/foster application on the left. If you have any questions, please email us at
