Cricket Update - We are excited to announce that our little boxer boy Cricket has been adopted and we are all so excited for him.

His adoptive family were very patient during the adoption process as they had applied the day Cricket arrived into foster care and we wanted to be able to get to know him a little better before finding the perfect home. The family emailed us often asking for updates about Cricket which we were happy to provide.

Once our amazing foster family began sending updates and pictures we truly got to know Cricket and what we wanted in a forever family and it just so happened that this very patient family were exactly what he needed. This is one of many updates and a few pictures as well.

Hey Ladies, I just want you to know that I have been getting awesome reviews from Jackie in regards to Cricket. Apparently he has opened up quickly, loves his morning walks, night time yard play and is getting along great with the kids.

Jackie wanted me to tell you all that they are very happy with their new adopted pup. The kids are enjoying and he has definitely attempted to crawl up on Jackie for snuggles. He has a doggy friend that he gets along with also, one of Jackie's friends dogs.

We cannot thank Jason and Julie and resident rottie Kilo for welcoming this energetic little boxer into their hearts and home. Cricket needed a little fine tuning and that is exactly what he got from his foster family. They worked on his leash skills and his manners and Cricket was a very good student.
Congratulations to Jackie and family on your adorable new family addition!!
Here is an update that Jason sent us as he has been in constant touch with his forever family.

Quilt Fundraiser - ANML-RESQ was asked by a shelter to help this sweetheart of a girl. Sadly, she was found in this horrendous condition, tied to a post. A kind Samaritan found her and immediately brought her to the shelter.

This sweet girl has a lot of fight in her ... among other things, she was extremely underweight, had numerous litters and worst of all she had an extremely uncomfortable medical condition called prolapsed uterus. Poor girl could not even sit comfortably.

We had to wait until she gained some weight before we could spay her and at the same time we would also have surgery to correct her prolapsed uterus done. The hardest part was waiting for her to gain even the smallest amount of weight, but she did!! She was 39 lbs. when she arrived at the shelter and since in foster care she has gained a whole 10 lbs. We are so proud of our Princess Kate – she has come a long way but still has a ways to go before she is completely healthy.

In honour of our Princess Kate we have been given the most beautiful quilt to raffle so we can recoup some of Kate’s medical bills.

If you are interested in purchasing tickets you can send an email transfer to Please also include your name and address as well as a notation that you are purchasing Quilt Tickets for Princess Kate.

Payment can also be made through Paypal which can be found on the homepage of our website

Draw date closes August 31, 2017 and monies for tickets must be received 5 days prior to the draw date.

Marli Update - We received a nice little update and pictures of our gal Marli who was adopted 3 or 4 years ago.  Here is her update:

Hey Renee, We hope you are keeping well. Warm regards from Marli, as you can see she is very happy and relaxed... Loves the summer but not so much the thunder and lightning.

She is great! Warm regards from Ollie, Bonnie, Marli, Gordon and Leah; we hope you are enjoying the Canada Day weekend.

She is looking so happy which makes us very happy too. She went from a girl living on the streets to a girl living the life in the country with a couple of furry little siblings.

Sailor Update - Wow foster parents Anne and Wayne received a heartwarming email and pictures of their foster boy Sailor. As you can see, Sailor has hit the jackpot with his loving dad Jeff and the feeling is mutual. Here is the update Anne and Wayne received, along with some pictures of Sailor celebrating Canada Day!

Anne; day six, wow, what a remarkable little guy Sailor is. The bonding has been speedy and rewarding, indeed I feel like I’ve won the lottery!
Had a good visit with my vet on Tuesday. Checked his ears and his heart. Anti-biotics in ears continues ‘till next Tuesday when we go back for a final check. Now has his flea, tick and heartworm treatment in progress. I also have a chart to follow his resting heart rate and gage his exercise accordingly.

I have made some small changes in his diet – just to make his meals more interesting and also approved by the vet.

Sailor is such a happy and social little guy. He has stolen the hearts of everyone in the neighbourhood. Our “walkies” are a joy for both Sailor and myself – I’ve only had to carry him a short distance a couple of times. He just loves meeting other people and their pets on our journeys.

Today I shampooed and brushed out his coat. He loved the shower and brushing, but was not too happy with the blow drier. We got through it OK tho’, and he looks great. Also managed to get his pillow case into the wash; now all is clean and ticky boo.

Right now he is sleeping (resting) in his bed as he got tired while sitting outside watching me gardening and cutting grass. This is just the kind of company I was looking for. My sister said she thinks I’ve come alive again! I am so thankful to have the privilege to look after this guy in our remaining years. Thank you folks so much, have a great Canada Day. Take care and G-d bless you both. ~Jeff

When foster homes receive updates like this it gives them the most satisfaction and joy to know their foster has gone to such an amazing new life and they were a huge part of making this happen for them. There is no better joy than to receive such a heartfelt email.

We hope you all had a safe and happy holiday as well.
