Meet Rocky - We are tickled pink to introduce you to our newest kid on the block. Meet 6 month old Rocky ... a very handsome Rottie mix who through no fault of his own had to find a new family.

Rocky was brought to our attention and we went into immediate action to find him a foster home. Then it occurred to me that a previous adoptor had messaged me a couple of months ago saying they wanted to adopt a male Rottweiler pup. I told them I would keep my eyes and ears open.

So when Rocky came up in need I contacted Rachel right away to see if they would consider fostering Rocky and both Rachel and Ken immediately offered to foster him. They are hoping, if all goes well with their beautiful Rottie girl Tasha, (who they adopted from us 3 or 4 years ago) will love Rocky and he will be staying with them forever. We already know Rachel and Ken love him ... .now it will be up to Tasha to approve (-: We think she will.

Stay tuned for more updates and pictures as we get them. Welcome aboard Rocky!!

Meet Ozzie  - We end off the week with some awesome news for two very lucky dogs. Both found themselves in a shelter through no fault of their own.

First, let me introduce you to Ozwald a.k.a. Ozzie. This 7 yr. old boy is amazing. He is fantastic with dogs and cats. Such an easy-going fellow. He does have a lump on his leg which will be checked out very shortly.

He will also be neutered but so far, he has shown us that he is a very well tempered, amazing boy. HUGE thanks to Donna and Family for welcoming Ozzie into their home.

We were also asked if we could help this sweet girl. 12 yrs. old...a little deaf and a little blind but what a little doll she is. Her name is Jenga and when her foster mom went to pick her up, it was love at first sight!

She worked her magic and within minutes Jenga got the most amazing news!! She has been adopted into the most loving senior citizens home(for dogs). Jenga is now loved by Karen and Steve, Tyson, Marlee and Rocky! She could not be luckier!!!

Mega Needs Help - URGENT Foster or forever home needed - Mega is an adorable 9 yr. old bulldog, that unfortunately needs to find a new forever home. The circumstances have changed in the family and sadly, Mega is not the best with small children. He is a typical bulldog ... he can be stubborn when the mood strikes him ... typical of the bulldog breed.

Mega is not the best passenger in a vehicle unless someone sits with him in the back seat – then he will settle. Mega is okay with cats...he will chase but gives up quickly. Mega is also good with most dogs, big or small. He may try to challenge a larger dog but when put in his place, he will give up.

We are looking for a foster or forever home that is familiar with the breed. No young children please. A nice fenced in yard is also preferable.

If you think you can give this senior boy a foster or forever home, please fill out the on-line adoption/foster application on the left. If you have any questions, please email us at

URGENT - Our passion and joy is in finding great forever homes for dogs who for various reasons but never through any faults of their own find themselves in need of new families and homes. From time to time we cross paths with dogs who are true survivors of unimaginable abuse. Dogs who have somehow beaten the odds of surviving daily life in abusive situations and were lucky to find safe havens within a rescue’s welcoming arms.

This very handsome boy is Bailey, a 6 year old male Shepherd Rottweiler mix who loves a good game of throw my stuffy. He also is quite treat motivated and will sit when asked and nicely take a treat from your hand. He is currently living in a shelter environment and in his 2 months there has become one of the staff’s favourite boys.

Shelter tested with cats he showed little interest in them after his initial look see but was all about his stuffy the kennel attendant was throwing for him. During his stay at the shelter he has not been walked so his excitement level to be on the leash and out of his kennel was pretty high so its possible he may need a little gentle leash training. Bailey who has a huge smile that would melt any heart happens to be one of those dogs who has survived unacceptable abuse. Bailey is considered urgent and what he needs immediately is a patient, understanding, loving & safe, dog savvy foster home to help him decompress and discover that there is a much better way. A stable and gentle home environment that will help him to blossom and to assure him that not all humans are bad.

If you could foster or adopt this beautiful boy, please fill out the on-line adoption/foster application on the left. If you have any questions, please email us at

Marli Update - It looks like our girl Marli has certainly hit the jackpot. She has an amazing mom and dad who love her dearly. This girl went from living on the streets to living in paradise.

Hey Renee, Happy New Year! We hope you are surviving the winter..... As you can see, Marli doesn't seem to mind, still enjoying life to its fullest, rain or shine.

Christmas Rescue - It was a couple of weeks before Christmas when I got an email from a previous co-worker asking if we could help with a young prohibited dog. Of course we couldn’t say “no” but knew that just a couple of weeks before Christmas, it may not happen as quickly as we want.

This little girl was saved by a “good samaritan” who took her from a high-kill shelter in Texas. How she ever got her across the Ontario border we will never know but at the end of the day, this girl needed help.

I immediately contacted our East Coast rep. and she put the word out. It wasn’t a few hours after emailing Carla I got an amazing response. We have a family for her!!! They have been patiently waiting to help an Ontario bully in need.

We immediately started to work on transport. Our good friends at Freedom Drivers could offer Layla a lift but it would be a day or so after Christmas. We relayed the good news but Layla’s new family had an even better idea!!

Their nephew in Ontario was coming East for Christmas and they REALLY wanted Layla home for Christmas. So, we were thrilled with this option as it meant she didn’t have to be handed off to several drivers ... much less stress for a little girl that already had so many miles under her belt.

So, 3 days before Christmas, little Layla was picked up and on her way to see her new family. She had an older brother named Kimbo waiting for her.

Here are some pictures of Lucky Layla...enjoying all the good things in life, including living muzzle free in a province that does not discriminate!!

HUGE thanks once again to Carla for helping us “make miracles happen”.

Congratulations Layla, Katie, Kyle and Kimbo!!

Bandit Update - We got some great pictures of our boy Bandit from his dad Tom.

Here is an update from Tom:

hi renee and wayne. how are you. I apologize for being so tardy on an update for bandit. he is doing very well and is a treasured family member. we found out that he is allergic to chicken. he was really scratching at his ears to the point of him yelping and whimpering. of course we got him into the vet asap. it took about 2 weeks for the vet to determine that it was actually an allergy. we changed his food and since then he has had no issues at all. bandit is very playful and he and echo are inseparable. bandit and echo both love the snow. they do not like it when they have to come into the house. bandit use to hate having his nails trimmed and would actually become a bit aggressive which included growling. he has been going to the same lady at a grooming place. she is very patient and kind.

I actually went to high school with her. bandit still does not really like his nails trimmed but he is much, much calmer and does not put up too much of a fuss now. he is quick to learn commands and is always eager to please. I am including a few pics with this email. I told echo and bandit that santa paws is coming tonight and there will be presents for them in the morning. of course bandit will also receive birthday presents and a special supper for his birthday in a couple days. bandit and echo hope that you and yours have a wonderful Christmas and a great new year. if you are ever in need of a volunteer in this area to assist with your organization, please do not hesitate to contact me. merry Christmas to you and yours

Bandit is doing really well...he and sister Echo are joined at the hip.

Rascal Update - Well, he did it! He played his cards just right and it is official - Joey (formerly Rascal) has been officially adopted!

We could not be happier for this boy who waited so patiently for months to find a rescue/foster.

He arrived into foster care a little over a month ago - he needed a little work but he definitely weaseled his way into his families heart.

Congratulations Joey!

Casey Update - We received some great pictures of our little boy Casey. If you recall, he is one of the “pocket rott” gang and he is the smallest of the bunch!! He is as cute as a button.

Casey has come around in leaps and bounds since being rescued. All of the rotties (mom and pups) were living in a very small enclosed area and had been since the puppies were born. We feel this may be why they are so small. Other than their size they are all stunning examples of their breed. It has taken time for all to overcome their fear of new things, but 2 years down the road, they have all made great improvement. Sadly, Casey lost his big sister Carmie last year and he misses her but mom Lori is keeping him entertained. Plus he LOVES going to doggy boarding/daycare ... he has lots of friends that he loves to play with there.

Thanks for the pictures Lori! I see Casey finally settled down enough to get some great shots!

Happy New Year - We hope everyone had a great Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

We wanted to let you know that our VERY popular boy, Peter Pickles has found his forever home! He is such a great boy and we were looking for the perfect home so he would never have to look again.

As you will recall, Peter spent many months at the shelter after being found as a stray. The shelter asked if we could find a foster home for him as he was such an energetic young boy and living in the shelter was stressing him out. Thankfully our Carolina and Mike stepped up and offered him a home so he could wait in the comfort of a home and some furry foster siblings to play with. He was a very popular boy and no wonder – he is SO handsome! But we finally found that home and Peter was on his way a week or so before Christmas.

His dad came to meet him, bringing a friend along as his wife had to work and it was love at first sight! The plan wasn’t for Peter to go home that day but his dad was so enamored and wanted to bring him home. So Peter’s food and all his stuff was carefully packed into the vehicle and Peter jumped in and was ready to finally go to his forever home! When his new mom arrived home, she was immediately greeted by a happy Peter and she too fell in love instantly (although I know they had already fallen in love through pictures on the site). Congratulations Peter, Andrew and Family!
