Off to a New Life - We are happy to have helped another prohibited leave the province. While she doesn’t really resemble one of the banned breeds (in my opinion) she was deemed substantially similar to the banned breeds and therefore had to leave the province.

We are so happy to have found a wonderful rescue in Nova Scotia who have offered Sadie a foster home while she has her cherry-eye surgery and all other vetting done. ANML-RESQ will be paying for all of her vetting as we would have if she could have stayed within the province but she went directly from the shelter, onto the plane and off to Nova Scotia. She landed this evening and was whisked away to her foster home.

HUGE thanks to Tori and the good people at Good Bones Dog Rescue. Also many thanks to our dear friends Carla and Karen for networking their hearts out in their area ... searching for a rescue or forever home. Thanks to them we were put in touch with Good Bones Dog Rescue. And last, but not least, thanks to our transporter extraordinaire Debbie for getting Sadie to the airport on time. Good luck little girl! Your new life begins now!

Saige Update - Our beautiful girl Saige went to the vets last week to get vaccinated and checked over. She was such a good girl at the vet clinic. Everyone there loved her.

She will be back for her second set of vaccines and possibly extraction of a couple of teeth and then our beauty will be ready for adoption.

Mega Update - Our little man Mega is settling in very nicely in his foster home. It took a few days for Mega and Casey to get to know each other but lately they have been caught playing together – woohoo!!

Mega is such a good little boy. He has not touched a thing while foster mom goes to work and when she comes home he is all wiggle-butts. He and Casey go out to do their business and then it is time for Mega to get down to some “snuggle time” with Lorie.

I think our little Mega is quite enjoying having a fur-brother to pester and if truth be told, Casey is loving every minute too.

Meet Chico - When it rains, it pours!! Another handsome Rottweiler boy needs our help.

Meet Chico, a handsome 2 yr. old rottweiler boy. He is presently living in a shelter and we would love nothing more than to find him a loving foster family that can help him come out of his shell.

Meet Baxter - URGENT! EXPERIENCED Rottweiler foster home needed for 2 year old Baxter.

We are looking for an experienced home with NO children under the age of 16. Baxter has not had the best start in life and he can be fearful in a busy environment so a home in the country would be ideal to get to know Baxter better. We also need a home with a fenced in yard so this energetic boy can run and play safely.

Baxter is a big boy and needs some work with leash training. He is in a kennel at the moment where they are taking great care of him. He has shown no food aggression. We believe Baxter would be okay with a laid back female of similar size. He has not met any cats so a home without cats as well.

If you think you can provide the foster home, please fill out the on-line adoption/foster application on the left. If you have any questions, please email us at

Remember to share with friends and family ... Baxter needs a foster.

Welcome Mega - ANML-RESQ is super excited to have found a foster home for our senior bulldog, Mega.

Sadly, due to changes in circumstances in his previous home, Mega needed to find another home. We waited for quite some time and were getting a little worried that time might be running out to find a foster home. We know his owner adored him and this was an extremely difficult thing for him to do.

We cannot thank our good friend and adoptor of a few of our dogs now, Lorie for offering to give Mega a soft place to fall while he waited for us to find him a forever home. Huge thanks as well to Casey (our handsome little pocket-rott) for also welcoming Mega into his home.

I put Mega's red blanket down, that's his favorite but decided
Casey's bed is much more comfortable. He is settling in nicely.

Understandably, Mega is a bit stressed and confused but each day he has been settling more and more. Casey has solicited play many times but Mega has been snuffing him – right now he doesn’t mind snuggling with Casey on the couch but he is not yet ready to play.

Welcome to our rescue family Mega! Thank you again Lorie and Casey for making this transition so much easier for Mega.

We look forward to lots of updates and pictures.

Lucky Layla - We received a couple of great pictures of our Lucky Layla. Boy, did she hit the jackpot when she landed with this family.

And looks like Layla and Kimbo are already bonded ... how cute are they?

We cannot be happier for little Layla. She is free to live life, muzzle free and enjoy the freedom that all dogs should.

It's Official - Well, it's official. Ozzie's foster family has fallen in love and have officially adopted Ozzie. What a lucky boy!

Ozzie went for his neuter and removal of the lump on his leg ... thankfully after testing it came back negative so we were thrilled to hear that. After recovering in his foster home Ozzie managed to weasle his way into their hearts (-:

As you can see Ozzie fits right in with his new family and has some furry siblings to love too. Here is a picture of Ozzie with his brother and sister Ralph and Billie and mom Donna. Leaving the dream :)

Congratulations Ozzie and family from all of us at ANML-RESQ!

Hi Renee: Just wanted to let you know we loved the stories on your blog this week about Ozzie, Saige, Layla and the wonderful picture of Miller with his graduation hat.

The story of Saige is special, to be such a wonderful dog after abuse and neglect, and as you know we have a big soft spot for Rotties.

Keep up the wonderful work you and your group are doing.  ~Anne

February 6/17

Meet Saige - ANML-RESQ is excited to introduce you to our newest rescue, Saige. Saige is a 6 year old Rottie girl who has lived a pretty rough life. She has been abused and neglected and through it all, her temperament is stellar.

We were asked to help this girl, she was in urgent need and we couldn’t turn our backs. We immediately went into networking mode. We had an approved applicant that was hoping to help a rottie in need and we felt that Saige would be the perfect candidate. Saige has lived with other dogs, cats and kids so we felt she would be a great match with foster homes resident dog Jack ... a 9 year old Rottweiler boy. Thankfully Carl was more than happy to welcome Saige into their hearts and home.

Her nails were overgrown making it difficult to walk, her ears were packed with dirt ... so that was the first thing taken care of. Now that she has had a pedicure she walks much better and she feels better too (-:

Next we had to arrange for her to get transported to her foster home and we would like to thank our gal Sharin for meeting transport and bringing Saige to her foster home. Jack and Carl were waiting to go for a little walk with the dogs so they could get to know each other then they brought Saige into the home.

She waltzed right in, sniffed around, had a drink, kissed Jack and proceeded to her brand new bed. She and Jack have become fast friends. This is only day one and look at these two love-birds. (-:

Thank you again to all that helped this girl out of a bad situation. Thanks to Gabby, Chris, Sharin and Carl for making this possible for a very sweet girl. Welcome to the ANML-RESQ family Saige!!!

Miller Update - ANML-RESQ is so proud to present one of our recently adopted, Miller who has graduated his first obedience class. This young boy has come a long way in just a few short months, thanks to his loving family.

Miller is getting lots of social which is so very important for these large breeds. The time to work with them is BEFORE unwanted behavior begins and that is exactly what Miller’s family is doing. Congratulations Miller!!! We are so proud of you!! Thank you Samantha for sharing this very proud moment (-:
