They are giving the gift of life so they are paying it forward. Here is an update from their proud mom Carolina.

My boys are officially blood donors!! They went in for their first donation yesterday and the guy at the clinic was super impressed with how good and laid back both were.

He said he wishes all their donors were like Tynan & Timber. He said both were having so much fun there and were loving all the attention, lol. ;) Carolina

Way to go boys!

Bandit Update - We received another fantastic update from Bandit's new family.

Here is an update from mom and dad, Tom and Glenda and a picture of Bandit and his beautiful sister Echo. As you can see he is doing super well and we are so proud of Bandit!

hi renee. sorry it took us a bit longer for this update than anticipated. bandit has been doing exceptionally well. glenda’s mom who lives in toronto brought an 11 year old cousin of glenda’s to visit for 10 days. we do not believe bandit has ever been around young children so the first couple days we were really on guard. it did not help that the 11 year old does not listen and is on meds for being extremely hyper. bandit was on his best behaviour and there were no issues.

he got his nails trimmed. we took him to a new grooming place in our home town. at first he was a bit nervous, but the groomer was great with him and after a minute he calmed right down. of course i was right there with him petting him and speaking to him in a calm voice so i think this also helped. as we exited the shop and went around the corner of the building, another woman was bringing her large german shepherd to the shop. the german shepherd became uncontrollable and was lunging, growling and being very aggressive towards bandit. i simply spoke to bandit in a calm but assertive voice and told him to “heel” and then also said “it’s ok bandit”. bandit simply looked at the shepherd and walked away. bandit showed no signs of aggression and did not even bark or growl at the other dog. we were very proud of bandit. bandit also had another “first” on saturday evening. for quite a while he has been licking our hands or legs but try as we would, he would never give kisses on our face. he would sometimes even start to growl a bit when we were trying to teach him this. well, on saturday evening, he was laying on the floor in front of me. i was sitting on the couch. we do allow the dogs on the furniture but sometimes he prefers to be on the floor. suddenly, bandit stood up, came face to face with me, gave me 2 kisses on the face, and then went and layed down on the floor again. it was amazing. i had been waiting for that moment for so long. we are still having no luck coaxing him into the pool. i think he would love it if he would just give it a try. lol. i took a picture this morning of bandit and echo so i am including it. i will send another update soon. tom

Thank you Tom and Glenda for keeping us posted about this very, very lucky boy!

URGENT - Foster OR Forever home needed for Lucy and Lilly - Lucy has a great nature, smooth like velvet. My hearing and sight not so good or selective. Walking not my favourite activity just to do my business- so when I look around I need to go out. More petting and snoozing, oh yes snoozing I like. My hips are not the best- the chiro helped me and some walks to develop muscles. But I rather rest. I like my food-Lunch raw ground beef with rice and quinoa, shredded carrots. Mmm. Kibbels and treats. If you run after me I run away so walk in the direction you want me to come and wave me in and I follow. Being chased for a game is fun.

Lilly is like a puppy, she can get excited by the word "cookie? "Lets go, work or nite nite. Nite nite means we are all going to bed with a cookie before sleep (small pieces that is). I cuddle at the bottom of the bed with my sis Lucy. I listen well when called and I would recommend walking them on leash until the know the caretaker and surrounding. They need time for adjustment. They are great companions with adults who are gentle . Children who are loud and running around are uncomfortable to them.

We would prefer that both girls be placed together, they are very bonded to each other. These two 9 year old Shih Tzu's are sisters and have lived their whole lives together and they were all each other had while they lived as breeders. They would be ideal for a retired couple or a family with older children. Lilly and Lucy are walked 3 times a day, a stroll around the block is good for them . They also like to chew on Dentabone® or from the pet store real knuckle bones.

If you think these two cuties would be a good fit in your home, please fill in our online application on the left.

Meet Ollie - Introducing Ollie - our newest little rescue. Ollie is a 3 year old pug/shitzu mix who is full of beans and really enjoying his life with his foster family.

Thank you Monique, Walter and Douggie for welcoming Ollie into your hearts and home. With a face like that, who could resist him.

Foster mom reports that he has been very good in the house. While she was going to keep Ollie and Douggie separate for the first few days, that was not to be. Little Ollie just crashed the baby gate and they met! All was good (-: Douggie is thrilled to have a new playmate but he will like it much better when Ollie is neutered.

Ollie has had some new adventures already, meeting family and friends and resident dogs - he loves them all and is being a real gentleman.

Stay tuned for more updates and pictures. Ollie will need to be completely vetted so it will be a little while before he is available for adoption. WELCOME to the ANML-RESQ family Ollie!

Java Update - We are howling for joy and as you can see - so is our little girl Java.

Java has gone to her forever home and what a wonderful young family she has to call her own. All of the family members will be actively involved with Java and she will get lots of walks and exercise. All of the family members were so excited to finally meet little Java ... they fell in love with Java through her pictures.

Many thanks to foster mom Claire and her daughter for taking care of Java until the perfect forever family was found.

Congratulations Java and Family from all of your friends at ANML-RESQ.

Marli Update - We received another lovely update from Marli's mom, Leah. As you can see Marli is a real "daddy's girl".

Hey Renee, I hope you are keeping well and are enjoying the warm summer days...

Attached are a couple of pictures of Gordon, Marli and Bonnie relaxing in the evening after a long, hard day of running around, chasing the orange ball and touring the forest ...  life sure seem sweet for 'our' girl :):):)

blog080415a.jpg (99850 bytes)blog080415.jpg (98889 bytes)

Oh, no question about it, she is 100% Gordon's baby... I am just the care-taker when he is away. She sits on the deck the whole day, waiting for his return in the evenings ... its ok, as long as both of them are happy! The next rescue will have to be mine though (another Border collie???).

Take care Renee and please don't forget, if we can help in any way, just give us a call. I will keep in touch, Leah. Regards, Leah

She looks so happy and is very much loved. Thank you Leah for these beautiful pictures and updates.

Bear Update - We hope you all had a great long weekend! I am sure for most all of us there was at least one day pretty severe thunder storms.

We are excited to tell you that our very handsome boy Bear has found his forever home. His family was very excited to meet him and because of the long weekend we were not able to arrange transport for his long journey home. That didn't stop his new family though. Dad, Jamie made the trip all the way up to meet Bear and his foster family.

It was love at first sight for Bear when he met his new dad. He followed Jamie everywhere and was more than happy to jump in the vehicle and head home to meet the rest of his family.

blog080315.jpg (43068 bytes)

ANML-RESQ would like to thank Crystal and family for welcoming Bear with open arms when he needed a place to stay. Bear was given so much love and so many wonderful experiences while living with his foster family. He was vetted and lovingly cared for and then he waited for his forever family to find him. Congratulations Bear, Jamie, Jennifer and family!

We also have some really nice pictures of our boys Chase and Bullet. These boys are having the time of their life ... running free, off the chain and being a part of a family, thanks to Carolina, Mike and "Crew".

It turns out the boys like all of the resident dogs and they don't mind the cats either ... what good boys they are. Soon they will start their heartworm treatment after they complete their pre-heartworm meds.

blog080315e.jpg (225878 bytes)

We are thrilled to be able to give these deserving boys the chance they so deserve to be healthy and happy.
